South West Sound at South By South West 08
In 2008, 15 organisations from across the South West will descend upon Austin, Texas for the world’s most influential music business conference and all under the banner of South West Sound.
This is the first time that a delegation from the region will be travelling together to South By South West. And it’s not just an opportunity for the suits; six bands from the region will be heading to Texas and performing in front of the world’s music business.
South West Sound is fast developing as the banner to support music industry activity in the South West across the year. This year’s trip to South By South West is just the first step. South West Sound will be building on its presence at South By South West by travelling as a group to other overseas conventions and trade missions in a partnership with the UKTI, AIM and others.
South West Sound Project Manager Matt Booth said:

We talked about the idea of getting a group of businesses from the South West to head out to Texas in March 08. I am really pleased that we’ve managed to pull this together and that South West Sound will have a delegation in Austin for the first time. It is a great chance for our region to put itself on the global map”
